Las Vegas National Golf Club opened in 1961, is one of the oldest golf courses in Las Vegas. Las Vegas was a much different place during this period of time, and golf courses were built to suit the equipment and games of the day. Las Vegas National is not a very long golf course, only 6,500 yards from the back tee, but mostly this is due to the five par-3's on the golf course.

Coming to Las Vegas soon?

Here's the scoop on some of what's going on in July at some of the golf courses here in Las Vegas. Las Vegas National Golf Club is going to be punching their greens starting on Monday, July 9th. I recommend that you stay away from there for at least three weeks so the greens can recover. The Arroyo Course at Red Rock Country Club will be aerating their greens on June 25th. [ read more ]

As soon as you step on the first tee, you know you are in for a challenge. Even if you have never heard the tales of all the famous golfers who have teed it up at Las Vegas National, the set up of the first hole is menacing enough. With out-of-bounds on both sides as well as fairway and greenside bunkers and a lake bordering the green, this long dogleg right opening Par 5 will intimidate even single digit handicaps.
